Could This Be A Picture of The New Apple Iphone 5?

by admin on September 1, 2011

Hot on the news of our Apple iPhone 5 wants yesterday, there’s further news that there may be a little slip on the behalf of Apple. Mac specialist site 9to5mac rather cunningly extrapolated a tiny image from the Apple Photo Stream creator and have given us their own larger impression of the phone as it would be enlarged and less blocky. And clearly, whilst this is in no way the finished degree, there is substantial evidence that shows that the phone may bear some likeness to the image, even if that’s just a holder on the Apple website:

Here’s what we can get from these shots about the new design of the phone:

1) Reduced screen borders: Particularly towards the top and the bottom. Clearly technology has moved on as we can see with televisions that hardly any borders are now necessary to support an LCD screen. This has allowed things to not only look better, but more practically, more screen can be fitted into less space. As we can see from the shots, the iPhone 5 will be no bigger than it’s predecessor but will feature a 3.7″ screen – which is larger.

2) Even thinner: Although you cannot see it on the shots, it’s very likely that the phone will be even thinner than before. With new phones such as the Samsung Galaxy S 2 and the Blackberry Bold 9900 really going to town on the thinness of their handsets (both under 1cm), it’s likely that Apple will go for a slightly thinner design. We still expect the same materials, to give the phone some weight.

3) Home button redesign: One of the most noticeable design features here, and a change from most of the series. The button has gone from round to rectangular – which is a slight copy of many other handsets out there. Overall area of the button has stayed the same so we don’t forsee any drop in useability.

4) Rounded Shape: We see that Apple have resisted going for any type of square shape – and the truth is, if it ain’t broke, why fix it? With the majority of products in the portfolio featuring the famous curves, we don’t see this changing anytime soon.

More news as we get it……..
